My co-worker brought this incredible Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Dip into the office years ago, that day, I circled the coffee room like a vulture. It is so good, so addictive and soo easy! It’s the perfect addition to any fall get-together, but may I suggest trying it out this upcoming Halloween weekend?
Can you believe Halloween is less than a week away? Like so many, this year’s big day is going to look a lot different in our house. There will be the usual suspects, homemade costumes, pumpkin carving and a themed dinner, but we’ve opted-out of trick or treating.
Our oldest just turned four and this year was going to be a big year for him. Our neighbourhood isn’t big on trick or treating, so it won’t be that much of a change, but he now equates Halloween with candy and is totally excited for the whole experience. Can you blame him? It’s such a fun holiday for the kids. We are planning on taking the boys to a drive-thru trick or treating event, which will fill that candy quota, hopefully.
With Halloween falling on a Saturday, it feels like it’s going to be an all-day event. Costumes, lots of candy and some easy entertainment are on the agenda for us. Our boys will be the duo of batman and robin. I’ve promised we will work on the capes tomorrow. I’m also planning a scavenger hunt, a Halloween pinata, a giant felt pumpkin so the boys can swap out jack-o-lantern faces and an appropriately scary movie, of course. {send suggestions – please!}. I’ve even talked my husband into decorating Friday night after the boys go to sleep.
It’s going to be fun, but no party, even if it’s only the four of us, is complete without food! And that’s where this dip comes into play, it’s the perfect treat for a Halloween party. It’s sweet enough to be dessert but easy enough to be an afternoon snack and it’s tasty enough to munch on all day long! Frankly, it’s a great addition to your Halloween spread!
How to make Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Dip
Let’s talk a little about this easy dip. It takes less than five minutes to make and you probably already have all the ingredients. It’s fall, doesn’t everyone have a jar of pumpkin spice and a can of pumpkin in the pantry, this time of year? Vanilla, brown sugar and cream cheese round out the rest of the ingredients for this dip. Just whip it all together and let it rest for at least an hour.
I like to serve this dip with apple slices, gingersnaps and graham crackers. You could also use pear, cinnamon tortilla chips or vanilla wafers. Have fun with it! If you really want to make it extra special serve it in a hollowed-out mini pumpkin, it would be so cute!
Even though Halloween is looking quite different, I’m starting to think it might be the best one yet! A day full of family fun, memories and good food, especially this Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Dip. What’s your plan for this year?
