Whether you have Milky Way Chocolate bars and call these Milky Way Rice Krispies Squares or Mars Chocolate bars and call these Mars Bars Squares, they'll be the best version of Rice Krispies treats you've ever tasted. Add this one to your dessert recipe rotation because with caramel, nougat and chocolate, they'll disappear fast and be requested often!
Butter a 8' x 8' baking dish and set aside. Measure out four cups of Rice Krispies cereal in a large bowl.
Melt together butter and Milky Way chocolate bars in a heavy-bottomed saucepan, stir until smooth (about 5 minutes, on low to medium heat). Stir continually. The mixture will start to look like it is separating, just keep stirring, it will come together and smooth out.
Pour mixture over Rice Krispies and mix until well combined. Press into prepared baking dish.
Make the Chocolate Frosting by mixing the 1/4 cup of butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips together in a saucepan. Stir until combined and completely melted. Pour over the Rice Krispies squares.
Let cool before cutting into 16 squares.
