Homemade Taco Meat

Forget the prepackaged taco seasoning mix, this recipe is so much better. With plenty of uses for taco meat, you'll be glad you have this recipe on hand. Give it a try and I guarantee this will be your new go-to taco seasoning.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp coarse sea salt
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced fine
  • 1/4 cup red pepper, diced fine

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Brown your ground beef in a large pan over medium heat. When almost cooked stir in the onion and peppers and let these cook down until onion is translucent.

  2. Drain ground beef. Add in spices and stir. Let this cook for a few minutes and then stir in the tomato sauce. Let this simmer and cook down for about 10 minutes.
