Dutch Apple Pie

My favourite apple pie. Dutch apple pie is similar to a traditional apple pie, but instead of a top crust, this tasty dessert is covered with a brown sugar and cinnamon crumble.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 large, tart apples (Granny Smith), peeled and cored
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pie crust, of your choice

Topping

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Peel, core and slice apples thinly. Mix apple slices with sugars, flour, butter and cinnamon until well coated. Pour into pie crust of your choice.

  3. Mix topping ingredients with a fork until crumbly, Crumble over pie.

  4. Bake 45-50 minutes. Cool. Serve!
