Homemade Texas Toast Croutons

You won't want to buy store-bought croutons once you try these Homemade Texas Toast Croutons. They're light and crispy, a perfect addition to your favourite salad.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 slices thick-cut Texas toast bread
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Cut bread into bite-size cubes and place in a large bowl.

  3. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the oil and spices.

  4. Pour a little at a time onto the bread cubes and toss, repeating until the butter mixture is gone and the croutons are coated.

  5. Bake for 15 minutes or until toasted and golden brown.
