Homemade Garlic Herb Bread

Homemade Garlic Herb Bread. Italian loaf, garlic butter, side dish, appetizer, herbs, baked bread, fresh from the oven, garlic bread, hot, warm, sliced bread,

Did you know today is National Toast Day? It’s the last Thursday in February. I’m pretty much obsessed with National Days right now. I came across this website the other day, and I’ve been wanting to cook based solely on national days. Today, based on this calendar, we could be eating a big bowl of chili with toast (or maybe Homemade Garlic Herb Bread) and then indulging with chocolate souffles for dessert. Just imagine how helpful this could be. “What’s for dinner, Mom?” “Let me check the national day calendar.” Somedays, coming up with a dinner meal is a struggle. I might be on to something here. This could be a game changer!

Garlic Butter Mixture, Homemade, garlic bread

Now, in honour of National Toast Day, I wanted to share this Homemade Garlic Herb Bread recipe. It’s not quite a toast, but it does have crispy edges, that counts, right? Not only does it have crispy edges, but those edges surround the most delicious herb and garlic butter infused bread. It’s so good. Serve it as a side to this recipe for the Best Almost Homemade Spaghetti Sauce OR use the bread as a scoop for my favourite Cheesy Spinach Dip, so sinful, but so satisfying!

How to make Homemade Garlic Herb Bread

Homemade Garlic Herb Bread. Italian loaf, garlic butter, side dish, appetizer, herbs, baked bread, fresh from the oven, garlic bread, hot, warm, sliced bread,

To make this Homemade Garlic Herb Bread, you start by mixing the butter ingredients until they’re well combined. Then, let that sit and marry together, while you prepare the bread. I usually use an Italian take and bake loaf, but you could also try ciabatta. Cut this into slices, but don’t cut all the way through. Grab a butter knife and smear on a generous amount of the butter mix on each side of the slices. Don’t over do it here, or you’ll end up with a pool of butter at the bottom of the loaf, which isn’t a terrible thing, just a bit messy. Cover the loaf completely with foil and wrap it up nice and tight. Bake in an oven for about 15 minutes or until hot and melted through.
