Mrs. McBane’s Sugar Cookies
Mrs. McBane's Sugar Cookies are my favourite. I don’t know Mrs. McBane, but I imagine her to be a very a proper lady with a bit of a wild side. I could have this all wrong. She is a friend of my grandmas, or so I think. I'm not even sure of her first name, the colour of her hair, the names of her children, or even if she has children. What I do know is that she is incredibly generous to have shared this cookie recipe with my grandma.

How to Make a Mermaid Crown
If you've been following along, you already know that my husband and I have two little boys, and might be wondering why I'm about to show you How to Make a Mermaid Crown. Well, this year, I got to pitch in for my niece's birthday and help make it extra special. You see, her and her brother's birthdays fall just over a week apart, so they've always shared a party. This year they each got their own. Theirs to choose the theme and help decide all the details. My niece chose a mermaid party.

Dutch Apple Pie Milkshakes
Oooh, have I got a treat for you today! These Dutch Apple Pie Milkshakes are the real deal. Apple Pie filling blended with ice cream and real crumble, topped with whipped cream and salted caramel makes for the ideal fall milkshake, especially this year. Apples are abundant and the weather is unseasonably warm. It's literally 97 degrees here today. What is that?

Canadian Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Do you have your meal planned out? I love big family gatherings. Sausage & Crispy Brussel Sprout Flatbread
You guys! I literally sat on my floor, in front of my oven watching this Sausage & Crispy Brussel Sprout Flatbread bake. I sat there like a little kid watching cookies, or like every baker on the Great British Baking Show at one point or another. And watched and waited, checked the timer and waited some more. Really, it was only 14 minutes, but it felt like a lifetime. I could not wait to sink my teeth into this flatbread and it was so worth the wait! This is crazy good.

Peanut Butter Poke Cake
This year for our son's third birthday, he knew exactly what he wanted. Well, he knew he wanted chocolate cake with peanut butter, it was up to me to find a suitable way to combine the two. Peanut Butter Poke Cake was what I came up with and man, was it good! A rich devil's food cake, topped with a layer of this peanut butter sauce and topped with a huge, thick layer of peanut butter-cream cheese-buttercream frosting. Tell me, that doesn't sound decadent?

Peanut Butter Dessert Sauce
Can you believe I've never made a homemade peanut butter dessert sauce? I haven't even bought a jar of it from the grocery store. I do, however, love peanut butter. You'll find it in all my Dairy Queen blizzards, sometimes even in their milkshakes. It makes a perfect snack and I tend to sustain myself most mornings on peanut butter and honey toast. With all that said, it only makes sense that I would add Peanut Butter Dessert Sauce to my repertoire.

Easy two ingredient Fry Bread
This recipe for Easy Two Ingredient Fry Bread, is all because of one of my oldest and best friends, Edith. When Edith, or Ede as I call her, comes across a recipe or comes up with an idea, that's to die for, she'll text, and this tasty bread is no exception. I love her texts, especially the ones about food. We've been friends since we were three, that's over three decades of friendship. In those thirty plus years, there have been endless conversations about food.

Under the Sea First Birthday Party
Our sweet, fierce, fun little boy turned a year old a couple weeks back and to celebrate we threw him an Under the Sea First Birthday Party. I love planning events. Any kind of celebration. I do feel that birthdays deserve extra attention when it comes to details. Even for the one year olds who will only remember because of the photos.
