How to Make a Mermaid Crown
If you've been following along, you already know that my husband and I have two little boys, and might be wondering why I'm about to show you How to Make a Mermaid Crown. Well, this year, I got to pitch in for my niece's birthday and help make it extra special. You see, her and her brother's birthdays fall just over a week apart, so they've always shared a party. This year they each got their own. Theirs to choose the theme and help decide all the details. My niece chose a mermaid party.

Under the Sea First Birthday Party
Our sweet, fierce, fun little boy turned a year old a couple weeks back and to celebrate we threw him an Under the Sea First Birthday Party. I love planning events. Any kind of celebration. I do feel that birthdays deserve extra attention when it comes to details. Even for the one year olds who will only remember because of the photos.

Do-It Yourself Pineapple Shoes
Ever refer to yourself as big foot? Yea, me too! Welcome to the club, the one, we really wish we didn't belong to. We are the folks who dread shoe shopping because we will have a max of twelve shoes to choose from and there will be at least one duplicate in the mix. It's a sad, sad state of affairs, for anyone with feet that top the charts at the 11 and over sizes. This summer, I got fed up with the limited selection and decided to make my own Do-It Yourself Pineapple Shoes.

Quick Wooden Toy Box Makeover
When I was first pregnant with our oldest, I had all these dreams of the cutest nursery. We went with a wilderness theme. I framed four big pictures of wildlife: a deer, a fox, a bear and an owl. We bought a few shelves to hang on the wall for books and then we needed something to house Ben's toys. I found these wood crates at Michaels and knew they'd be perfect for a Quick Wooden Toy Box Makeover

Dad’s Cereal Bowl
I'm not sure about you guys, but do you have fend for yourself nights? Those night's when I haven't prepared dinner and time's up, everyone's hungry. Well, in our house these are fend for yourself nights. It basically means we're eating leftovers, or it's a peanut butter sandwiches or something else super easy, but I'm not putting in any effort and definitely not cooking. My husband's go to meal on fend for yourself night is usually cereal. So with Father's Day around the corner, I knew getting his own Dad's Cereal bowl would be a huge hit for him.

Easy DIY Wall-Mounted Paper Roller
I have wanted one of these giant paper rollers, ever since I seen them years ago. It wasn't until recently, that I had the space and the time to really give this project legs. I had seen a few versions online, but they were much too expensive for my taste. Then I came across this post on A Little Bit O.C.D. and was completely sold. Minutes later, I called my husband and asked him to swing by Ikea on his way home. I had been putting this off because of time and money, but with this Ikea hack neither was a problem…

Make Your Own Speckled Easter Eggs
Seriously, how cute are these Speckled Easter Eggs. They add the perfect touch. They're nice and matte and besides the seam down the middle they truly do have a real-life appearance to them. If you've been following along, you'll know that I've made a decision to try harder to decorate for the holidays. Ben, our two year old, loves it and really who doesn't enjoy a good celebration. We decorate for Christmas and Halloween, so, why wouldn't we dress up our home for the other holidays, too? Furthermore, with these speckled eggs, it won't be hard at all to fill our house…

Make Your Own Balloon Dart Art Painting
Let it be said, this is by far one of the coolest ways to make your own gallery worthy painting for your home. My father-in-law, who is a painter, likened it to a Jackson Pollock. I had to google Pollock and I can see now where my father-in-law was going with it.Regardless of what it may remind you of, this painting is spectacular and will garner you many compliments. It makes me giggle, a little, whenever a friend or family member asks where we bought it. It really does have a presence to it. I'm always happy to say we made it,…
