Land of Nod Cinnamon Buns
I still remember the first time I ever ate Land of Nod Cinnamon Buns. I don't remember which house of my cousin's we were in. If it was Winnipeg, or Saskatoon. I also don't remember how old I was or the time of year. I just remember her placing this ring of cinnamon buns on her kitchen table (can't tell you what that looked like either) but the sun was shinning through the window and this dish lit up like it was a gift from the heaven's and OMG it was. We dug in and these cinnamon buns have been stuck in…

Taco Pizza on Naan Bread
When I was little, my Dad would make taco pizza. It was sort of his thing. He didn't do a lot of the cooking, that was more my Mom's domain. He loves to cook now and will experiment and take on any, and every dish, but back in the day, he handled the barbecue, fresh fish and taco pizza. Probably other things too, that I've since forgotten, but this pizza, however, was his jam and my inspiration for Taco Pizza on Naan Bread.

Rutabaga and Apple Mash with Crumb Topping
This was my Grandma’s mainstay recipe at Christmas dinner. It didn’t matter what else was being served, it was a guarantee that this Rutabaga and Apple Mash with Crumb Topping would show up on the table, courtesy of my grandma. Because, it is my Grandmother’s cornerstone holiday side dish, it feels appropriate to share it now, just in time for Easter. Have you ever had rutabaga? It’s a root vegetable that’s basically a cross between a cabbage and a turnip. The original recipe is called turnips and apples, but after a little bit of research, I’m pretty sure we were using rutabaga…
