Sriracha Spiced Mayo
There’s this super fun spot in the town across from my hometown. It’s the summer hangout for most. The season isn’t complete without a trip to Sha Sha. And for me, that means a long island tea (or a couple) and a grilled chicken burger with extra pickles and spicy mayo. So, you know what I did this weekend, I pulled out my barbecue, grilled up some chicken breasts for burgers and made some Sriracha Spiced Mayo to go on top of it with!
Sha Sha is a fun restaurant and lodge that sits overlooking the lake, with a ton of decks with varying levels. The food is good, the drinks are flowing and the kids are having fun feeding the chipmunks. It’s a good afternoon, a lazy, lounge in the sun, enjoying the weather type of place. A must! If you’re ever in International Falls, make Sha Sha one of your stops.
So, you know I use this spicy mayo on my grilled chicken burgers, but it’s also the perfect dip for sweet potato french fries. The mayo itself has a nice bite of spice to it. We don’t find it overly spicy, my kids eat it, so that should be a good indicator. It does, however, leave a little heat on your tongue. If you’re worried about the spice, just use less and adjust as you go. Like spice? Add a little more Sriracha.
How to make Sriracha Spiced Mayo
I love how easy this is, four ingredients and you’ve got a great condiment for burgers, french fries, nuggets, really anything that you would normally dip, this will likely be a great accompaniment! And it’s so simple.
Mix together the mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, fresh lime juice and onion powder together and then let it sit and the flavours will develop. It needs at least an hour but overnight is even better. Store it in an airtight container and it should last for about a week.
If you ever need a little added kick to a dish, this is the way to go. With a nice tangy kick, and the right amount of spice, this dipping sauce is a must. Give it a try, I know you won’t be disappointed!
