• My 100. A food bucket list if you will. Filled with recipes I've been putting off because they're either too complicated or time consuming. This year, I tackle them all!

My 100 (A Food Bucket List) – Update

Should you have a food bucket list? Is that even a question? How will you keep track of all the recipes you want to test and try out? This list is crucial to culinary success, or so I think, but then again, it's a list and I love making them. When I say love, I really mean love, as in the way my baby loves his soother. As in the way my toddler loves cars or my husband loves the Knicks. It's my obsessions. My 100 is my dream list of recipes that I want to accomplish.

  • I'm embarrassed to tell you how many hours I've spent trying to find this recipe online. Mini Cheese Biscuits, may not be exactly Jim 'n Nicks famous biscuits, but they are close enough that my family ate an entire batch in one afternoon. Give them a try and let me know how close you think they are!

Mini Cheese Biscuits (Jim n Nick’s copycat)

Since moving to the South, I've been loving the barbecue out here! It's so so good. We pick up a tasty smoked meal from Jim n Nick's at least once a month, but my favourite is the Mini Cheese Biscuits you get with your order. They're insane! So good! There are never any left. They disappear like hotcakes. It's a must! I decided with the world shut down and our family cooped up in our cozy home, it was time to recreate these biscuits.

  • Update: Still as good as ever! This Family Irish Bread is a tried and true recipe that won’t disappoint. One that we've been baking for years in our family. Highly recommended! Serve it with Honey Butter for a truly delicious snack. Both recipes on the blog.

    Family Irish Bread

Anytime my aunt is comes to town, fresh Family Irish Bread, is a guarantee. She bakes loaves of it and it is amazing, as is she, amazing that is! Call this a bit of an ode to Ele (my aunt). She is like a second mom to me. She's the aunt I can confide in, scheme with and is always there to help. My aunt drops everything and comes to the rescue of any of her family members, especially her nieces and nephews. In fact, she flew to Georgia for a month-long visit to watch our toddler while I was in labour…

  • Was the Easter Bunny a little too generous? Do you have too much candy laying around the house? I've got a fun way for you to use up some of those leftover holidays sweets. Easter Peanut Butter Cookie Bars are chewy and delicious. The candies pop and give you a little extra creamy peanut butter burst in every bite. A fun one for the kids to help with too!

Did the Easter Bunny visit your house last weekend? Was he extra generous? Did he leave behind mountains of sugar-infused energy stockpiles for kids that are already going a little stir crazy? Why did I do this to myself {face palm}, are you asking yourself the same thing? I've got a fun way to use up some of those extra candies you may have an overload of. Whip up a batch of Easter Candy Peanut Butter Bars.

  • I'm sure you know the theme song to Married with Children, right? Would you believe it's the inspiration for these White Chocolate Orange Muffins? I got the theme song stuck in my head and by chance changed the words "love and marriage" to orange and chocolate and knew at that moment I needed to create a recipe that combined the two. These muffins are bursting with orange flavour and just the right amount of chocolate, a must bake!

    White Chocolate Orange Muffins

My friends, these White Chocolate Orange Muffins are delicious. You may laugh at me, but this blog post started out all backwards. You see, I normally decide what I want to create, test the recipe, photograph said recipe, write the blog post and then figure out social media. Now, in this case, it started with social media.

    Double Peanut Butter Easter Blossoms

I'm a huge fan of peanut butter and chocolate. My husband brings home Reese's peanut butter cups, every year for me on our anniversary, he gets me! But I've never been a big fan of peanut butter cookies. I live in the camp where cookies should always be soft and more often than not, peanut butter cookies just aren't. So, I set out on a mission to find a recipe for soft and chewy cookies that I could use in these Double Peanut Butter Easter Blossoms.

Melt In Your Mouth Chocolate Chip Cookies

These melt in your mouth chocolate chip cookies are my favourites for multiple reasons. Not only are they exactly what a chocolate chip cookie should be, but they are the first cookies my son, Ben and I made together. They are the first anything we made together to be exact. Really, what cookie could evoke more nostalgia than a sweet little chocolate chip cookie? I bet we all have a story about these, amiright?

    Cranberry & Wild Rice Bread

This summer, while I was home, I came across a loaf of homemade Cranberry & Wild Rice Bread in the gas station. Sounds crazy I know. How many gas stations do you know that sell locally baked goods? If you were lucky enough to grow up in a small town, this won't surprise you! Some of the best foods can be found in the most unusual of places.
