My 100 (A Food Bucket List) – Update

Updated: Sept 27, 2019 (1 year + 3 months). First off, how is your Food Bucket List coming along? My 100 is actually filling up quite nicely. When I decided to update my list today, I wasn’t sure there wasn’t going to be much to share, but I’m pleasantly surprised. A lot might not be exactly the same as the more traditional version, but still so good! Keep reading to find out what I’ve scratched off in the last nine months! And send me a copy of your list, if you’d like, I’d love to see what’s on yours!

My 100 a food bucket list

Should you have a food bucket list? Is that even a question? How will you keep track of all those amazing recipes you want to test and try out? This list is crucial to culinary success, or so I think, but then again, it’s a list and I love making them. When I say love, I really mean love, as in the way my baby loves his soother. As in the way my toddler loves cars or my husband loves the Knicks. It’s my obsessions. My 100 is my dream list of recipes that I want to test out.

Some of these recipes have been in the back of my mind for years, others are new additions. Fried green tomatoes, for example, is a recent add. My good friend was out for a visit and we toured the set of the movie Fried Green Tomatoes in Juliette, Georgia. We even ate at the Whistle Stop Cafe and now all I want is to recreate that southern staple. Perfect pancakes is a recipe that has eluded me all my life. I’ve been a Hungry Jack’s pancake mix fan for a while, but it’s time to find a recipe that I can make from scratch and be proud of.

I decided at the beginning of this year to do a 101 things in 1001 days list for my everyday life. Take a peek at that list here. After I excitedly pressed publish on that fun list, I came across this post by the Brown Eyed Baker. I decided immediately this was next. I quickly jotted down about half the items on my list. Then, I really dove into those recipes that I’ve always wanted to try and either put off because it seemed way too complicated like mirror-glazing a cake or too time consuming like puff pastry.

This year, though, I’ve decided to really focus on my personal growth and with that comes flexing my cooking muscles. I’m beyond excited to share my 100 list with you guys. I hope this inspires you to try your hand at some recipes that you’ve been putting off. There’s no better time than now. I’d love to read about a recipe you’re dying to test out.
