I’m a planner, so I decided to make a list of what our favourite dipping sauces are and then pair them with fries. We ended up with about six different types of french fries and seven sauces, well if you count vinegar as a sauce. We do in this house, it’s one of our favourites. French fries drizzled in vinegar and sprinkled with salt is always a hit!

How to Make a French Fry Board

I start by prepping the sauces so that each can sit and marry for a few hours so they can reach maximum flavour. The longer the better, but you’ll want to give each dip at least an hour to develop. They’re all easy, the House Dip, Sriracha Spiced Mayo and Hot Mustard Sauce only need to be whisked together. The Easy Barbecue Sauce is cooked and simmered and we also like to use a green peppercorn sauce from a packet, but any form of gravy would work. Then we just used vinegar and ketchup right from their own containers.

Now for the fries, preheat your oven to the specified temperature on the packages. Place the fries with the same temperature and time range together on a pan. You’ll likely need two pans to be able to cook everything at once. If something needs to cook at a higher temperature you should be able to get away with starting them about 10 minutes sooner than the rest, just keep an eye on all the pans.

While the french fries are cooking, spoon a bit of each dip into a small serving dish, so you can pop them onto the board, when ready. I use one of the pans straight from the oven and it helps to keep everything hot for a little bit longer. This isn’t really a board for picking at, this is more of a get it while it’s hot appetizer, just make sure to warn everyone that the pan is HOT!
