101 Things in 1001 Days List

I started my first 101 things in 1001 days list back in 2011 and loved it. I didn't accomplish everything on that list, but I really did enjoy the process. The list kept me accountable. When I started blogging a few months back, I told my husband, a few times about the 101 in 1001 list and how much I liked the challenge. We even read through my old list. I started questioning why I hadn't done one in over five years and decided to remedy that right away.

2019 Resolutions and the Word of the Year

We're officially into week two of 2019. I still haven't truly set my resolutions for the year, meaning, I need to write them down. Confession, I'm a list person and of the typical version. You know, the kind that writes it down just to scratch it off. Silly, I know, but there is something satisfying about drawing a line through all those lists. This year I'm taking a different route with my resolutions. Oh, don't fear, I have the usual resolution.

    Ham and Swiss Pinwheels

It's new year's day and we started the year off right! We slept in and then indulged in these ham and Swiss pinwheels. They are delicious. In fact, I've made these twice in the last seven days. I made them Christmas morning and then again today. Friends, they are quickly climbing the breakfast ladder. Not a breakfast fan? Don't count yourself out yet, they will make a fantastic appetizer too.

    Easy Sprinkle Birthday Gift Tags

You guys, I’m already thinking about the holidays. My son and I were busy making Christmas gift tags a couple days ago. I don’t have any decorations up or gifts bought as of yet, but I’m itching to get started. I try to wait until thanksgiving before I start decorating, but with the cooler air rolling in, I’m getting antsy. Last week, my son and I started on Christmas preparations in other ways—gift tags. While prepping our work space (the kitchen table) with stuff to make Christmas tags, my son was busy rummaging around in the pantry. An activity he loves and…

  • Grandma's No Bananas Foster Sauce

    Grandma’s No Bananas Foster Sauce

Bananas foster holds a soft spot in my little foodie heart. Years ago, my grandma and I took a trip together to St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. It was an amazing trip. I got to spend time with not only my grandma, but also my great aunt who was living there at the time. Besides the fantastic company, beautiful scenery, and salty air there was an assortment of deliciously fresh foods. It’s all I need for an unforgettable vacation.

Maple, Bacon, Apple and Cheddar Grilled French Toast Sandwich

Yesterday was national sandwich day. I check my emails first thing in the morning and there it was, a message from a well-known sub shop announcing national sandwich day. What a delight! Obviously, I should make a sandwich, right? Well, Ive been thinking about sandwiches ever since. I walked up and down the aisles in our grocery store yesterday afternoon brainstorming flavour combinations. I had some Brie in the fridge still and decided that would be my cheese layer but now what to add. Bacon. You can’t go wrong with bacon. Brie and bacon sounds good already, don’t you think! I really…

  • How to make your own Easy Balloon Painted Canvas with darts and balloons. A fun weekend DIY project to add new decor to your home. Interested in designing your own abstract art, this is the perfect project to create your own unique painting.

Make Your Own Balloon Dart Art Painting

Let it be said, this is by far one of the coolest ways to make your own gallery worthy painting for your home. My father-in-law, who is a painter, likened it to a Jackson Pollock. I had to google Pollock and I can see now where my father-in-law was going with it.Regardless of what it may remind you of, this painting is spectacular and will garner you many compliments. It makes me giggle, a little, whenever a friend or family member asks where we bought it. It really does have a presence to it. I'm always happy to say we made it,…
