Peach Jalapeño Popper Pinwheels

Craveable. Delicious. Sweet. Savoury. Snack-sized. These Peach Jalapeño Popper Pinwheels are all of those statements. My favourite, though, isn’t listed and that’s that they are so so easy. These little appetizers pack tons of flavour in one super-simple package. A must for your next small gathering (COVID be damned) but that’s ok, a handful of people could happily demolish this treat in just a few minutes.

These pinwheels are soo easy. My three year old helped with these and then proceeded to devour them by the mouthful. In this house, we’re all about the sweet and salty combo and this is absolutely perfect. Sweet peach jam with spicy jalapeño and salty bacon mixed with cream cheese is the perfect mixture. It’s definitely a snack that will have you coming back again and again.

I love jalapeño poppers. My fast-food chain of choice is Arby’s and honestly, that’s just because I can trade in my fries for the tasty cream cheese filled side. I usually dip my poppers in marinara, but Arby’s serves theirs with a sweet sauce, which has me convinced that a jalapeño popper pinwheel with a sweet component would be ah-mazing.

And guess what it is! It’s really the perfect marriage. Because, we live down here in the, South, Georgia to be exact, peach jam is now a staple in our fridge. And on these pinwheels, it’s absolutely delicious. It mellows out the bite from the jalapeños and with the bacon it just sends this whole appetizer right over the top.

How to make Peach Jalapeño Popper Pinwheels

These are easy, you don’t even have to heat up the oven. Summer snacks for the win! To start, fry your bacon until crispy, drain on a paper towel and crumble. In the leftover bacon grease fry the jalapeños until they are soft. Let these cool down.

In a medium bowl beat the cream cheese, sour cream and spices until well blended. Stir in the shredded cheese, bacon and jalapeño and mix until fully combined. Spread a third of the mixture over each tortilla and then gently spread a couple teaspoons of peach jam over the cream cheese mixture. Roll each pinwheel up tightly and wrap in plastic wrap and chill. With a sharp knife cut the rolls into 1″ slices.

We love this appetizer, it’s quick and easy, but taste like you’ve really made an effort. It’s got a sweet and savoury side. It’s loaded with cheese AND bacon. Really there’s something for everyone with each bite. It’ll quickly become your go-to staple summer snack!
